The trade in Tropical Fish

Tropical fish are beautiful creatures. While many fish would definitely enjoy being in the wild and free, most of them are now so domesticated that they would not stand a chance of surviving. In addition to domesticated behaviour paterns, they also have cumbersome body shapes and long flowing and cumbersome fin shapes that would make them sitting ducks for and fish eating predator. Their unnaturally bright colours too would be a hindrance for thyem to servive in the wild.

So, with decades of breeding and selecting tropical fish for colour, body and fin shapes, have we created a new ecological nisch for tropical fish? The Aquarium?
